What is SAYAN?
South Asia Young Queer Activist Network or SAYAN is a lose network of organisations and individuals across South Asian Countries with one focus towards making South Asia safer for gender and sexuality minority (GSM) population. This is a volunteer led network of youth from different South Asian Countries.
What it works for?
SAYAN works for sharing cross country experiences of youth from GSM communities across South Asia. It works for developing peaceful, non-violent, discussion spaces among youth to learn and share lived experiences of each other. At SAYAN we believe that by such sharing solution to country specific challenges could be solved and an inclusive South Asia is possible.
Who could be members of SAYAN?
- If you are citizen of any of the South Asian Countries
- If you belong to gender and sexuality minority community or an ally
- If you believe in budling dialogue and other non-violent modes of building inclusive South Asia
- If you believe in democracy
- If you believe in diversity, dialogue and development
Who can not be a member of SAYAN?
- In case you have any criminal investigation pending in your name
- In case you have been convicted for crimes of Human Trafficking, crimes against any State or its citizens, crimes around Drug, Narcotic, arms trafficking (one or more)
- In case you have been reported by International or National orgs for any Hate Crime
- Inn case you have been ever deported from any of the member countries of SAYAN
